We have officially reached the point where Hidden in the Stitches might not be able to stay hidden much longer.
Welcome to Week 3!
Over the last two weeks, we’ve worked our way through the first 16 rows of our mystery tapestry graph. We’ve watched random little patches of color connect, shapes begin to form, and theories become increasingly confident. Or increasingly confused. Both are valid.
This week we’re adding another eight rows, which means that by the time you finish today’s section, you’ll have completed 24 of the 32 rows. That’s three-quarters of the mystery. Surely you’ll know what it is by then…Right?
Before You Start! If you’re just discovering Hidden in the Stitches, you’ll want to start at the beginning. The Week 1 post includes the materials list, yarn and hook information, along with Rows 1–8.
Already finished Week 1 but need the next section?
Once you’ve completed Row 16, you’re ready for this week’s clue.
Week 3: Rows 17–24
Continue directly from where you stopped at Row 16, working Rows 17 through 24. Each square on the graph still represents one stitch. Continue working back and forth, alternating the direction you read the graph with each row and changing colors as indicated. Take your time with those color changes and keep an eye on your stitch count.
Okay… Do You Know What It Is Yet?
Once Row 24 is finished, put down your hook for a second and look at your piece. You’ve now seen 75% of the design. So I’m making this your big prediction before the final reveal: What do you think is hiding in the stitches?
Maybe you’ve known since Week 1. Maybe Week 2 gave it away for you. Maybe these eight rows finally made everything click into place. Or perhaps you’re sitting there with 24 rows of crochet in your hands thinking, I still have absolutely no idea.

Consider that your final opportunity to study the evidence, squint suspiciously at your stitches, turn your project upside down for absolutely no reason, and lock in your guess. Then we’ll find out who’s been right all along. And who’s been confidently crocheting something completely different in their imagination for the last three weeks.
